Text: Psalm 103
Theme: The Benefits of God

Ian read a story where the Father Eagle said, “You are my children. Nothing you do or don’t do will ever change that.” Do you believe God’s love for you is like that? Why or why not?

Verse 2 says, “…and forget not all his benefits”
What benefit of God have you forgotten at some point in your life and how did that impact you?

Verse 4 says, “who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.”

  • What does this mean?
  • How has this verse been a part of your story? OR
  • How are you longing for this in your life now?

How does the comparison of God’s removal of our sins as far as the east is from the west reflect His compassion and grace? And how can we reflect that in our relationships?

Verse 8 tells us what God is like as our Father. Do you believe this about God? If so, how does this impact your prayer life?

Read verses 9-10. What do you see here? As a follower of Jesus, how can you better reflect the God described in these verses?

We see so much of the character of God in this Psalm. Read through the whole psalm again and ask God to convict your heart as to how you can grow more into the image and likeness of God. What comes to mind?
