Text: John 9; Luke 18.35-43

Open The Scriptures:

1. In John 9, Jesus says the man’s suffering wasn’t about anyone’s sin, but so “the works of God might be displayed.”
   ➤ How does that idea sit with you? Has there been a time in your life when God used something painful or confusing to show His power or goodness?
   
2. When the man born blind is questioned, he simply says, “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
   ➤ What does this show you about how powerful a personal story can be? How could your own story of what Jesus has done in your life speak to others?
   
3. Later, Jesus talks about people who can “see” but are really blind (John 9:39–41).
   ➤ What do you think it means to have spiritual sight? How does this change how we think about faith and belief vs unbelief? What differentiates a person who can see vs. a person who is blind to the things of God?

Fanny Crosby said she was glad she was blind because the first face she’d see would be Jesus’.
➤ How does that perspective challenge you to “see” differently? What helps you keep your focus on Jesus in the middle of everyday distractions?

Jesus once asked the blind beggar in Luke 18, “What do you want me to do for you?”
➤ If Jesus asked you that today, what would your honest answer be?

Instead of asking “why” in hard times, the sermon encouraged asking “what now, Lord?”
➤ Have you ever had a moment where changing your question helped you see what God was doing? What difference might that mindset make right now?

The man in John 9 stood firm even when the Pharisees pushed back.
➤ When have you felt pressure to stay quiet about your faith or convictions? What might courage look like for you in those moments?
