When Jesus talks about anger and lust, how do you deal with those struggles in your life?

What are some of the root causes of your anger?


Lust for some may be other than sexual in nature- what are ways you “over-desire” something and what are you doing about it?
Jesus challenges us to guard against anger and hurtful words (vv. 21-22). How do you typically respond when you feel angry, and what practical steps can help you respond with grace instead?


Reconciliation is a priority for Jesus, even before worship (vv. 23-24). Is there anyone in your life you feel distanced from or in conflict with? What would it look like for you to take a first step toward reconciliation this week?


Jesus calls us to a high standard of purity, even in our thoughts (vv. 27-28). What are some practical ways you can guard your heart and mind to avoid harmful thoughts and actions?


In verses 29-30, Jesus uses vivid language to emphasize the seriousness of sin. What is one area of your life where you sense God is calling you to make a decisive change? How can this group support you in taking that step?
