| Open the Scriptures 1) Read Proverbs 4:20-27 slowly. What do you notice about stewarding your life with wisdom? 2) In Proverbs 5, 6, and 7 the young man is warned against adultery and unrestrained lust. Why does the Bible caution against sexual immorality? What are some of the costs of sexual immorality? 3) Proverbs 18:1 says: “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.” What is it about isolation that is dangerous to our souls and spiritual health? Open your Lives 1) What is one area of your life that you desire to steward with greater wisdom? 2) What is something you struggle with that could have a stronghold in your life? Do you tend to escape through a certain behavior/habit or to isolate? 3) Sometimes, we can seek to meet a legitimate need in our lives through illegitimate means in order to help us cope. Can you name “the thing under the thing” that you face in your struggle? 4) How does shame play out in your life as it relates to the struggles you face? What could it look like for you to take a brave step forward regardless of what the “voice of shame” tells you? |
