Proverbs 8:22-36 – October 11, 2026

Open the Scriptures:
Read Proverbs 8:22-31 slowly. What do you notice?

What comes to your mind when you ponder God as Artist?

Referring to the Golden Calf in Exodus 33, Mako said, “Like the Isrealites, we take what is good and beautiful, and use it to create idols.” How have you seen this play out in your own life or in our culture?

Haejin defined biblical justice in this way:
Justice is restoring broken relationships toward new creation. Justice is not about going back, but creating more beautiful relationships.  This is how God redeems His world.
Do you agree? How have you understood what justice means, and do you see yourself as an agent of justice in your own world?

Open your Lives:
Mako said, “Wisdom, crafting, making, and playing all give us and God delight. Skill, wisdom, and play go together. They are each postures of worship to God.”
What might it look like in your life to worship God through one or more of these postures?

Mako said, “Wisdom is always future-seeking. It creates the future.” What do you think he means by this and how can we become more future-seeking?

Mako said, “God takes our efforts for beauty and justice and says, ‘Child, what you did in faith, I am able to multiply and complete.'”
What comes up for you as you ponder this?
